Lab Indonesia 2012 officially opens its door!

Lab Indonesia 2012 officially opened yesterday at Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC) here in Indonesia. Lab Indonesia 2012 has successfully gathered a total participation of 128 exhibitors and more than 2000 quality visitors from different countries, only on the first day of exhibition.
 
Opening Ceremony
A welcome dance kick started the ceremony which greeted our honourable guests such as Mr. Muhamad A. Martoprawiro, PhD, the President of Indonesian Chemicals Society (Himpunan Kimia Indonesia), Datuk Dr. Soon Ting Kueh, the President of Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (Institut Kimia Malaysia), Prof. Freddy Permana Zen, DSc., the Honorable Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Resource, Ministry of Research and Technology.
 
 
“After the successful 1st edition of Lab Indonesia back in 2010, Lab Indonesia is returning this year to showcase more of the latest scientific equipment and analytical services, especially with the new additional of Korea and UK Pavilion besides the existing Germany, India, China, Singapore and Malaysia,” said Ms. Juanita Soerakoesoemah, the President Director of PT. Prakarsa Sinergi Utama, the organiser of Lab Indonesia 2012 in her welcoming speech.
Mr. Muhamad A. Martoprawiro, PhD showed his support in Lab Indonesia 2012 in his speech stating “Lab Indonesia 2012 came to the right place as the platform to exhibit advanced instruments and technologies which help the creative innovation in adding value to Indonesia’s natural resources and competitiveness.” He added that Himpunan Kimia Indonesia (HKI) is very pleased to organize the Indonesia Total Laboratory Management Symposium (TLMS) in conjunction with Lab Indonesia 2012 to bring the experts to present the latest development in total laboratory management and other aspects.
Lab Indonesia is described by Datuk Dr. Soon Ting Kueh as the avenue for the industry to look into new scopes of work and research which will enhance career or rewards. “If one is looking for more sophisticated equipment or advanced technologies, it is undoubted that Lab Indonesia 2012 is the right choice which meets all these needs,” said Datuk Dr. Soon Ting Kueh.
The inaugural ceremony was officially launched by all the honorable guests and closed with the traditional Jakarta dance “Jali-Jali”.

Lab Indonesia 2012 had great pleasure in having many support from local ministries and associations. Mr. Harris Iskandar, PhD., the Secretary of Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) of Indonesia said that “This exhibition is meeting the expectation by providing huge range of information, established access and generating great benefit for the academic society in higher education.”
Mr. Gwee Seng Kwong, the Secretary-General of Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMa) also stated that “The twofold increase in the number of companies participating in this exhibition as compared to 2010, underscores the growing success of this exhibition,” during his appearance at Lab Indonesia 2012. The number of Singapore companies is undeniable crowning the status of the largest overseas participating pavilion this year in Lab Indonesia.
